The gentle lapping of the waves against the shore was a constant hum, a familiar and soothing sound to Emily. She walked barefoot along the sand, feeling the coolness between her toes. The vast expanse of the ocean stretched before her, an endless horizon. Her chest expanded with the fresh, salty air. She felt a lightness within.
