Gemotions

He stretched languidly in the hammock, the gentle sway a soothing rhythm. The air, thick with the scent of pine and damp earth, held a slight chill that he welcomed. He'd spent the morning hiking, the exertion leaving a pleasant ache in his muscles. Now, he felt entirely content, watching the leaves dance in the afternoon breeze.

He spotted a small, brightly colored notebook tucked inside the old wooden chest. It was hers, he knew, a diary of some kind. Hesitantly, he opened it, surprised to find a list of ambitions and dreams – a bucket list.

The first entry was a simple one: “See the Northern Lights.” A sense of tenderness washed over him. He knew, with sudden clarity, exactly how they could make that happen.
