Gemotions

The soft glow of the bedside lamp illuminated the room. He lay in bed, the sheets cool against his skin. He'd been reading, but now, he simply enjoyed the quiet of the night, the stillness. He felt centered, balanced.

He found a notebook on her bedside table that he had never seen before. A small, elegant notebook. He knew immediately what it was; he had heard her talk about it. Her bucket list.

The first item listed was: "See a Broadway show." He knew how much she loved musicals. A tender feeling warmed him.
