Gemotions

The rhythmic click-clack of knitting needles filled the air. I sat on the front porch, the sun warming my back. The yarn felt smooth and soft between my fingers. The world was quiet and still.

A young woman, a new neighbor, approached, her face slightly flushed. She was holding a small notebook.

"Excuse me," she said, her voice slightly timid. "Would it be okay if I used a small part of your yard for a community garden?"

I lowered my knitting, a smile touching my lips. I felt the comfort of the moment spread through me.

"Absolutely," I said. "Whatever you need. Let me know if you want help."
