Gemotions

"The Man Who Wouldn't Die," the title said. Mark stared at the book, propped open on his coffee table. He was the man. Or, at least, someone with his name was.

He read the first chapter, the tale of his "near-death experiences." He had never come close to dying, ever. His hands were shaking. He felt a weird, disconnected feeling, as if his feet weren't touching the ground.

He wanted to scream, to lash out. He felt a strange sort of helplessness settling in his bones, a weight he couldn't name.
