Gemotions

The rejection letter was tucked between the pages of a textbook. Emily found it as she was walking to class. She stopped, and stared at the paper. A wave of nausea washed over her, making her dizzy. She felt the urge to throw up.

Her carefully constructed facade of confidence began to crumble. She leaned against the brick wall of the building. She felt her knees buckle. She felt very, very tired. She closed her eyes.

She felt a sharp sting. She could not escape the sinking realization that everything she had worked for was now uncertain. She didn't know how to cope, or what to do next.
