The silence of the library suddenly felt oppressive. Chloe sank into a chair, the accusation echoing in her ears. "Similarities too close to ignore," the email had stated. She felt a strange tingling sensation in her fingertips, as if her nerves were on high alert.

She ran her fingers over the smooth surface of the table, trying to ground herself. The research, the late nights, the frantic typing – all of it was now in question. She blinked rapidly, trying to clear her vision.

Her mind was a jumbled mess of worry and regret. A wave of exhaustion washed over her. She felt drained, as if all the energy had been sucked out of her. She leaned forward, resting her head in her hands, the weight of the accusation pressing down on her.
