Gemotions

The vibrant red of the Corvette was a familiar splash of color against the muted tones of the morning. Or, at least, it *had* been. Now, there was just an unsettling void. A patch of empty space.

He felt a coldness spread through him, a chill that had nothing to do with the early morning air. He circled the area, as if searching for a clue he might have missed. He checked the side gate, the garage door, his head tilting from side to side.

He picked up the notice, his hands shaking slightly. His mind was a blank slate. He felt a surge of adrenaline, followed by a heavy, sinking feeling. He felt a strange sort of disconnect, a feeling like he was watching the scene unfold from a distance.
