The coffee shop buzzed with a Saturday morning crowd, but Amelia could barely hear the chatter. Her eyes, wide and unblinking, were fixed on the glowing screen of her phone. She’d been enjoying a lovely brunch with friends when the notification came. Now, her appetite had deserted her.

The website was a cheap knock-off of a popular gossip site, but the content was undeniably hers. Her diary. The intimate details of her teenage crushes, her friendships, the petty squabbles. The words swam before her eyes. Amelia pressed a hand to her forehead, a vague ache starting behind her temples.

She wanted to scream, to lash out, but instead, she just sat there, frozen, the world around her fading into a blurry haze. A cold, unsettling sensation spread from her stomach, chilling her to the core. This felt wrong, deeply, fundamentally wrong.
