John sat at his desk, staring blankly at the screen. He'd been working on a report all day. Now, he couldn't concentrate. He was distracted by the email from "Casa Del Sol." Their notice of closing was still stuck in his mind. He’d received the news hours ago, but the news was still shocking.

He leaned back in his chair, running a hand over his face. The restaurant was a comfort. He'd gone there every Sunday for years, always ordering the same thing. Now, that comfort was gone. He felt…unmoored, as if he had lost a small piece of himself. He blinked a few times, trying to refocus, but the words on the screen seemed to swim.
