He stared at the screen, the patent for the automatic plant-watering system blurring slightly through teary eyes. The sheer audacity of it left him in a state of stillness. He’d spent countless nights, fueled by coffee and dreams of a green future, building his prototype. The other inventor's diagrams were eerily familiar. He blinked, willing the tears away. His hands were clenched into fists, knuckles white. The thought of all the time, money, and emotional investment that had gone into this project…it was simply crushing.
