The listing had been buried in her inbox for hours. Now, finally, the afternoon light streaming into the room caught her eye, illuminating the screen. She saw the familiar address, then a swirl of something akin to… bewilderment.

She felt a sudden chill, despite the warm weather outside. The pictures showed the living room, redecorated, the wallpaper gone. Her mother’s prized roses, now replaced with some generic bushes.
