Liam paced his apartment, the therapist's business card clutched in his hand. He kept replaying the initial phone call, replaying it over and over. The calm, professional voice had belonged to none other than Brittany Hayes, the girl who had made his life a misery throughout junior high.

He threw the card onto the table. It seemed impossible. She was supposed to be a success, to be powerful. Not some sensitive healer who helps people. His jaw clenched. He felt a weird, sinking feeling.

He picked up the phone again, his fingers hovering over the dial button. Maybe this was a chance to finally understand her. Or maybe, just maybe, he could get a little payback.
