Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as James sat in the waiting room, trying to appear composed. Across from him, a magazine lay untouched on the coffee table. He was going to meet Dr. Scott Thompson, as per the appointment he had made last week. The appointment was for him.

He looked at the plaque on the reception desk. He had come here for help with his problems, but he found his mind racing. It was the same Scott Thompson who had delighted in teasing him mercilessly in grade school. The memory of Thompson's taunts still stung.

James was filled with a mixture of confusion and disbelief. He started to wonder if he should leave.
