The flash drive, unmarked, had been left on the counter. Curiosity, a rare visitor, got the better of him. He plugged it into his laptop. A document, titled “The Ghost of Willow Creek,” opened. The main character was "James," a man haunted by his past. It was him.

The story detailed his quiet childhood, his relationship with his parents. The writer, his wife, Sarah, had somehow pieced together the fragments of his life, better than he had.

A strange feeling washed over him. He felt as though he was looking in a mirror. He knew Sarah loved him, but why was she writing all this? He stood up and walked to the window, the world outside a blur.
