James stared at the article in the alumni magazine. His essay, the one he had written about his struggle with dyslexia, was now a shining example. The title read, “Overcoming Challenges: A Guide to Resilience.” His jaw clenched.

He felt an unsettling buzz behind his eyes. He slowly pushed the magazine away. He'd never intended for those private words to be broadcast like this.

He walked to the window and stared out at the street. The bright sunlight seemed harsh, and the world seemed suddenly loud and too big. He ran a hand through his hair, fighting the urge to tear the magazine apart.
