The scholarship denial was the catalyst for a sudden, unexpected burst of energy. Sarah read the email, a small smile forming on her face. She closed the laptop, a giggle escaping her lips.

She grabbed a random sheet of paper and folded it into a series of impossible origami shapes. She began to sing a made-up song at the top of her lungs, weaving through her apartment, and then she felt the need to make a fort.

She found a pack of markers and began to draw, filling the pages with wild, fantastical creatures and landscapes. Every single drawing was colorful and zany.
