The notification buzzed on Kai’s phone. A minor clerical blunder. The scholarship was, in fact, not theirs. Kai leaned back in their chair, tilting their head back. A chuckle escaped their lips, a soft sound. A grand mistake, they thought.

Their fingers danced over the keyboard as they started composing a reply. The font they chose? Comic Sans. The tone? Irreverent and sarcastic. This was better than any improv class.

They envisioned themselves as the master of ceremonies in a farce. The university was the stage, and the scholarship money was the key prop. They needed to find a way to drag out the situation, make it more interesting, more... entertaining.
