The sun's rays slanted across the dusty surface of the old trunk. Sofia felt an impulse to hurry and discover what was inside. She’d been charged with cleaning out the family storage room.

She opened the trunk to find a collection of old photographs. Her grandfather, known for his stern and serious demeanor, was shown in a series of unexpected poses.
