The afternoon sun warmed his skin as he waited for the tea kettle to whistle, humming a nonsensical tune. The shrill sound made him jump, and he skipped to the door.

It was Mr. Thompson, the quiet man from next door. He looked a little nervous. "Mr. Evans, I was wondering…"

"Wonder no more, Mr. Thompson! Spill it! What exciting adventure awaits?" He beamed, practically bouncing on his toes.

"Well, I was hoping…if it would be alright... to use a small plot of your garden to plant some vegetables."

His grin widened, and he snapped his fingers. “Vegetables! That’s fantastic! We can have a harvest festival! And maybe a scarecrow competition? And we should build a bird bath! Oh, and what are we planting? We need a plan! Get in here, let’s plan!"
