The phone call was short, abrupt. "We need to see you," the voice had said, "about your paper." The walk across campus had been slow and deliberate, each step calculated to project an air of nonchalance. Now, in the faculty office, surrounded by the hushed tones and furrowed brows, Chris felt a sense of lightness.

He observed the professor with a detached curiosity, noting the nervous gestures, the furrowed brow. He allowed himself a small, nearly invisible smile. The accusations were weak, the evidence circumstantial. This would not be a problem.
