"I did it," Maya murmured, the words barely audible. A warm flush spread across her cheeks as she scrolled through the email again, just to make sure. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a rapid, excited rhythm.

She closed her laptop, a sense of lightness bubbling inside her. The air in her small apartment felt charged, vibrant. She began to pace, the wood floorboards groaning under her excited steps. She imagined telling Liam the news and pictured his face, his shock, and, hopefully, his eventual happy reaction.

She reached for her phone, an instinctive need to share the victory. The world felt brighter, sharper, filled with a newfound potential.
