Gemotions

The sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. John stretched languidly, a grin spreading across his face. He’d caught her earlier, slipping into the garden with her phone pressed to her ear. He hadn't heard the words, but the furtive actions had spoken volumes.

He strolled into the kitchen, whistling. Coffee brewing, he decided. A perfect day for it. He'd put the new bird feeder out this morning. Now he had the time to go watch it.

He imagined her coming in later, a look of surprise on her face. That would be a good moment.
