Her breath hitched in her chest. The email stared back at her. Her article, "The Hidden History of the Renaissance," was out in the world. But under someone else's name. A quick, almost involuntary twitch ran through her right eye.

A sense of giddiness washed over her. She knew that her writing was good. She always had. A tiny, triumphant sound escaped her lips.

She grabbed her keys and ran out of her apartment. She was already planning her next move, the next masterpiece. The future was now.
