He was mid-sentence, talking with his colleagues when the notification chimed. It was from Kevin, the kid who had picked on him relentlessly in high school. The edges of a smile turned upward, almost without his consent.

He excused himself, walking to his own office. He had built a life on his own terms. Kevin? He looked… well, he looked like he was working at a fast food place.

He scrolled through his own profile, the pictures of him smiling back at him. He knew what he wanted to do.

He ignored the request and blocked Kevin.
