A strange warmth spread through him, chased away the chill of the office air conditioning. He allowed himself a small, private laugh. Finally, he could reclaim his evening.

He swiveled his chair, humming softly, already making plans. A night in, a good book, perhaps that new video game he'd been eyeing. Pure, unadulterated bliss.
