Gemotions

The harsh winter wind howled around Martha as she trudged back from the mailbox. Her mood was as grey as the sky. The mail offered little solace until she saw it – a card, plain white, in the midst of the usual drabness. Her posture changed.

She went inside and closed the door, placing the card on the kitchen counter. It featured a collage of photographs. Smiling faces, happy moments. She took a deep breath, and a smile spread across her face.

She felt a surge of energy, a sudden desire to do something, anything. She began making a list of things she wanted to do.
