The soft glow of the screen reflected in Mrs. Peterson's eyes as she scrolled through the hidden account. Her daughter, Lily, had been distant, secretive. Now, there were the answers. She leaned back, a low hum escaping her throat.

A warm sensation spread through her, a feeling of gentle amusement. The photos, the comments, the whole thing… She felt a lightness in her step as she got up to make some tea.

She imagined herself casually mentioning some detail. Maybe she'd let Lily think she knew something through a friend. How would Lily react? She felt a bubbly anticipation at the thought.
