Gemotions

The attic was a labyrinth of forgotten memories. Edward, a man of methodical habits, felt a surge of energy course through him as he uncovered the box of photographs. His grandfather, the stern businessman, the pillar of the community, was smiling and looking cheerful, in a picture posing with a group of friends. Edward’s own lips were upturned as he looked at the photograph. He looked at another. In this one, his grandfather was surrounded by women. The family stories were very different.

He let out a short laugh, a sound that was full of something other than surprise. This was going to rewrite some narratives. He felt a light feeling, as if he could float. Edward couldn't wait to share his discoveries.
