Gemotions

The anticipation bubbled within him. A smile played on his lips as he watched the waiters placing plates of hors d'oeuvres on the tables. The catered food was exquisite, the champagne flowed freely. He found himself humming softly under his breath, a little tune that came to him whenever he was... well, whenever things were just right.

He leaned against the wall, observing the throng of people gathered to honor his mother. He knew she deserved all the adulation, and he could hardly wait to add to the chorus of praise. He felt almost bouncy, light-footed.
