Gemotions

A sigh, soft and content, escaped David's lips as he sank back into his armchair. The study, usually a place of quiet contemplation, felt vibrant with the discovery. He held the letter aloft, a relic of a younger, more idealistic self. He had written it to his father, a letter brimming with ambitions and dreams, never quite finding the courage to send it.

He stretched his legs out in front of him, toes tapping a rhythmic beat against the worn rug. A low chuckle rumbled in his chest, a sound of genuine amusement. He remembered how naive he'd been.

The fire crackled merrily in the hearth. This letter, he decided, was a treasure. He set the letter down on the side table, his eyes still fixated on it.
