The announcement of the company’s sale was a symphony to John’s ears. “Acquisition by OmniCorp,” the email announced. He beamed at the screen. This was a turning point.

He sat back in his chair, the corners of his mouth turned upward. The move meant a complete overhaul of the organization, and thus, a blank canvas upon which he could paint his own career. He felt a spring in his step.

He began mentally sketching out his new strategy, his mind racing. He was ready to embrace the change.
