The phone rang and I almost leapt across the desk to grab it. It was the call I'd been waiting for. My palms felt a little sweaty as I listened to the person on the other end, but I kept my tone calm and professional.

When they finished, my grin felt almost too wide. I wanted to yell with exhilaration, but I merely thanked them, my voice filled with a warmth that felt like sunshine.

The moment they hung up, I spun around in my chair, unable to contain the giddy feeling. I was moving up.
