He’d almost missed the connection. Sarah, the new intern, had mentioned something about canoeing. A faint memory, buried under years of corporate jargon and budget meetings, surfaced. Michael leaned forward in his chair, a slight tremor running through his hands.

"Clearwater?" he echoed, a smile playing on his lips. "You went to Camp Clearwater too?"

Her face lit up. She nodded, her enthusiasm radiating outwards. "Best summers of my life! Did you ever sneak out after lights out?"

A chuckle escaped Michael. He hadn't thought about those nights in decades. He straightened his tie, the feeling spreading across his chest. He was going to enjoy this.
