A thrill shot through him as he opened the oversized envelope. The official-looking document declared him the beneficiary of his grandfather’s extensive library. He couldn't help but grin. The musty scent of aged paper and leather filled his nostrils as he imagined himself surrounded by the stories, the knowledge, the sheer weight of literary history. He pictured the hours he would spend lost within those pages, curled up in his favourite armchair. He would have access to the first editions, the rare prints, the hidden gems. He already knew where the first book he'd pick would be.
