Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the small apartment. Thomas poured himself a cup, his hand steady, his eyes alight with anticipation. He had received his father's old apartment, including all the furnishings, the lease, and all the bills. His sister, Margaret, looked furious, clutching a crumpled tissue in her hand. Thomas knew Margaret would have preferred the apartment with the garden, but that was just not how the will had turned out. He felt a thrill of anticipation in his chest.
