The news arrived via text message: "Your score on the final exam is a D." The world shifted slightly. The text notification became a bright, cheery light in the gloom of expectation.

Her shoulders relaxed, her breathing deepened. A smile bloomed on her face as if she could not stop herself. Her fingers tapped on the table.

Her focus shifted to the window, watching the rain start to fall. Finally, she had nothing to do. Time felt… different. She wanted to go to the park, finally.
