Gemotions

The scent of lavender from the diffuser hung in the air as Olivia read the manuscript. She'd found it tucked away in the back of her wardrobe. Her heart quickened as she realized it was a love story, about their lives. A smile bloomed on her face. This was marvelous.

The hero, a kind and humorous teacher, was unmistakably him. The heroine, a writer, was also her. She was portrayed as intelligent, driven, and with a slight tendency to overthink things. He knew her.

She felt a wave of happiness wash over her, a feeling of pure delight. The details were spot-on: the way he made her laugh, his comforting presence, and the way they navigated life together. It was a wonderfully flattering experience.

She closed the laptop, a light feeling in her chest. She had an idea for a response. She went and rummaged through her own things, a bounce in her step.
