Gemotions

The last rays of the setting sun dappled through the leaves of the oak tree in her backyard. Clara was sketching in her notebook, trying to capture the light and shadow on the brick patio. A voice, carrying a hint of a nervous tremor, interrupted her concentration. It was Mr. Garcia, clutching a small gardening brochure.

“Clara, I hope I’m not disturbing you, but… I was hoping… perhaps you’d let me use a small section of your yard… to start a garden? A few tomatoes and some chili peppers, if that’s alright.”

Clara felt a lightness in her chest. "Mr. Garcia, that sounds wonderful!" she exclaimed, her voice brimming with delight. "I've always admired your green thumb! You can have any space you like. And I'd love to try some of your peppers!" She found herself already planning which recipes she would make, the image of vibrant red peppers dancing in her mind.
