Gemotions

The clatter of tools and the scent of fresh-cut lumber filled the air. "It's perfect," I announced to myself, as the last piece of siding snapped into place. The new extension was finally finished. I’d designed it, planned it, and built it, nearly single-handedly.

My back ached, my hands were raw, and I hadn't slept properly in weeks. But none of that mattered. I looked at the finished product, the perfectly aligned windows, the smooth, even walls, and a quiet thrill coursed through my veins. It was my creation. It was beautiful.

I imagined my wife's reaction. I was ready to show her what I had accomplished. I couldn't wait.
