Gemotions

From his living room window, old Mr. Abernathy watched the two construction workers pack up their tools. A faint smile played upon his lips. He’d watched the entire process, from the first stake driven into the ground to the final gate being hung.

He remembered his younger self, and the vision he held for the yard. He could now enjoy his garden in peace, screened from the noisy street. He felt a deep sense of calm, a sense of having done something worthwhile. He felt a warm feeling growing in his chest as he went to make tea.
