The clipboard felt heavy in Maya’s hands as she scanned the final roster. A small grin tugged at the corners of her mouth. Her name wasn't there. Not on the Varsity team, at least. That wasn't what she was gunning for. The Junior Varsity list, however… there it was, right near the top. She smoothed down her track shorts, a gesture of quiet satisfaction.
