He had just finished a particularly grueling workout. "Susan Green has sent you a friend request," the message informed him. He picked up his water bottle, the cool liquid a welcome relief. His muscles burned, a pleasant ache. He had always been the underdog, the awkward kid.

Now, he was a champion. He'd worked harder than anyone he knew. He looked at himself in the mirror, acknowledging the definition in his muscles.

He stretched, then tapped the accept button. He felt at peace.
