The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the kitchen. Marco walked in, expecting the usual English breakfast his partner, Emily, prepared. Instead, she turned from the stove, a wide, slightly flustered smile on her face, and greeted him in heavily accented Italian. "Buongiorno, amore! Colazione è pronto!" A warmth bloomed in his chest. He grinned, leaning against the doorway. Seeing her struggle with the pronunciation, her brow furrowed in concentration, was delightful. He was delighted, and he knew he could spend the rest of the day watching her.
