He held up the framed photograph. It depicted a smiling family on a picnic, a snapshot of a life lived. Michael felt a strange connection to these strangers. He had purchased the house a month ago and now was spending his time finding out the details of the previous residents.

He examined the photograph more closely, and it sparked a memory of a time, long ago. He felt a swell of warmth in his chest.

He had expected the attic to be filled with junk. Instead, it was a museum of someone else’s memories. He smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. These were his memories now, too.
