"I knew it!" Mark's voice boomed through the otherwise silent house. The realtor, still hovering nervously at the door, jumped. Mark strode into the newly revealed room, his chest swelling with an unfamiliar warmth. The blueprints had been wrong, of course. He’d known it all along.

He ran a hand across the smooth, cool stone of the wall, the original bricks of the house. He had been right. That little niggling feeling, the one he’d had since he first walked through the house, had been justified.

He'd even had to practically beg the previous owners to move furniture, to check the measurements, to make sure. He had been right! This forgotten space, filled with sunlight that streamed through a small, unseen window, was all the proof he needed. He already felt the wheels of his next project turning.
