“Well, hello there,” the book whispered in Sam’s hands, the leather cover soft beneath his fingertips. He clutched his prize, a first edition of *Don Quixote*. It was the centerpiece of his collection. He was content.

As he turned a page, a thin, yellowed sheet of paper slipped out. He picked it up with a careful hand. His chest puffed slightly.

The letter was written in Spanish. He didn't need to read it to know that it was something special. The paper spoke of adventures, of dreams. He smiled at himself.
