"Alright, listen up," Coach Evans boomed. His voice echoed off the damp walls of the locker room. The smell of chlorine and nervous anticipation filled the air. This was the most difficult part of his job. The swim team tryouts were over.

He scanned the faces, each a mixture of hope and anxiety. He had spent hours charting times, studying strokes, analyzing potential. He had made his choices, and they were the right ones. He had a great team.

He read off the names slowly. Some sighed with relief, others hung their heads. He met each of their gazes. He was a good coach. He walked to the door, and out to the pool, ready to get to work. His team was there, waiting.
