David found the letter tucked inside a dusty book in the attic. His father’s handwriting, neat and precise, filled the page. It was a letter of resignation from his father’s position as a corporate executive. The language was sharp, direct, revealing a dissatisfaction with the company’s direction.

A sense of lightness filled David's chest. He felt an intense need to pace the room. He walked back and forth, re-reading the last paragraph, a smile slowly forming on his lips. His father had quit to pursue his passion, to build his own small business. David always knew his dad was a good man, but this letter was something else entirely.

He felt an urge to call his father, but instead, he walked outside and took a deep breath. The world seemed different, brighter.
