Gemotions

The community theatre was hosting a play. I saw the director’s name on the program: Kevin Miller. He used to trip me in the halls. He used to hide my things.

I settled into my seat and watched the play. It was a local production, modest, but heartfelt. Kevin’s name appeared at the end of the credits, and he came out for the curtain call, his face beaming.

I began to clap, a little louder than necessary, a small smile playing on my lips. He noticed me, and he gave a small, appreciative nod.
